For reference, this review is being written after 9 ish months of usage. The keyboard itself has a nice weight embedded into the frame and the entire shell is made of what looks to be aluminium making it feel high quality and built to last. The board sounds too good for something that comes stock from the factory like this, especially vs what you get from companies like Whooting. I haven't lubed the switches at all yet and they still feel and sound great, the stabilizers might need some but that's expected for any board.The key caps themselves did get shiny after a month or so which isn't great but it is what it is. I like how the top plate is a quick release ball mount but it is more of a gimmick than a useful feature. The usb c to a cable included is 6ft, braided and caused me zero issues so far so bravo. The keyboards switch placement and angle of the default keycaps feels good however I do wish they put two more keys where their badge thing lies on the right side of the board. I tried removing it to see if I could open it up and change the image inside but that's not possible either. Permanent ad. Lovely. Software (web based driver utility) is decent but it's hard to find it on their website if you don't know what to look for. The lighting is south facing and defuses nicely on the back plate.
In game the switches Gateron Jade Pros feel nice and responsive in games like overwatch where acceleration is instant. Be warned with the Jade Pros the shell is blue so the LED can never give you a true white colour whereas the other switch, the WS Flux can. Having tried the Flux switches I would recommend them over the other ones for feel and the colour but other than that they are identical and in the end it's down to preference, especially after you get used to them.
Also note the board currently does not support a similar feature to Whootings Analog Switch Input that simulates a Joysticks feel but this was not a deal breaker to me and most as most games don’t even support it.
I did have a small hiccup with support and their response time vs another orders sale but after reaching out to them and explaining my situation in detail, they were awesome and sorted everything out to my satisfaction.
On that note, I would check the return policy for your region as ChillKey might not cover return costs thus making it kind of a ‘no returns’ policy without saying it. To be clear they do accept returns after it's inspected but the shipping cost can sometimes be quite pricy. Solution is to buy from amazon or an authorised reseller.
I get this board isn't cheap, but if you can wait for a sale for free shipping or a bundle, I strongly think the board is worth it for 99% of people looking for an endgame keyboard without the hassle or price tag of a custom board. I would wholeheartedly recommend you consider the Slice 75 HE as your next upgrade.
